My Limited but Quality Camera Equipment

When it comes to camera equipment, I am quality over quantity. Leaving out the backdrops and smartphone tripod with LEDs, I am listing the real deal of photo equipment I have which are the camera and lenses I have used to produce all of the work on my website.

I am a Canon owner, the 5d mark iii, and last time I checked it was the most popular piece of photography gear students rented out at my University so it caught my attention when I found this model for a decent price.

I only have three lenses, a flash and one DSLR.

I had always wanted a pancake lens and I have now owned one for nearly a year. The only limit a pancake lens has is that it cannot zoom in and out but this limitation has helped me gain confidence in getting closer to subjects. The pancake lens is so small, so therefore it is not intimidating for subjects to capture them in the most natural way possible. It is so compact so makes it much easier for me to travel with and squeeze in my bag, not to mention it is stylish!

Here is a photo of me taken with a pancake lens:

Next is a traditional Canon zoom, 18-200mm. The zoom is obviously useful for when I am photographing at a distance especially if there is a lot to capture, but my main go to it honestly the pancake lens at the moment, even for videography!

A Sony zoom lens is what completes my list here, and I love Sony I gotta say, it provides a lovely cinematic quality to images with a vintage feel. I know I will definitely be getting a Sony camera one day, but for now am happy to have the time with Canon and have experienced Nikon way back when as a student.

Take a look at one of my prints I shot with the Sony zoom and see what I mean:
